Taal Volcano and Taal Lake
An active volcano on an island in the middle of Taal Lake, best viewed from the lakeshore towns and the Tagaytay ridge.
Taal Volcano rises from Volcano Island in the middle of Taal Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Philippines. Lakeshore towns such as Talisay and the ridge to the north offer the classic views of the island and its crater.
Travel note: PHIVOLCS keeps Taal under Alert Level 1 (as of October 2026) and entry to Volcano Island is not allowed. Check the latest PHIVOLCS bulletin before planning a lakeshore trip.
