Bauan-Mabini Road closed after landslide in Brgy. San Teodoro

A 200-meter landslide damaged the roadway and riprap in Mabini. The section stayed closed as of October 6 while clearing continued.

A landslide at around 6 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 damaged a section of the Bauan-Mabini Road in Sitio Guitisan and Sitio Balanoy, Barangay San Teodoro, Mabini. DPWH Batangas 2nd District Engineering Office had closed the section before the slope gave way.

As of October 6 the road remained closed while clearing operations continued. Avoid the area until authorities declare it safe. The Philippine Coast Guard also ferried students past the closed section by boat.
