Bridge of Promise in Batangas City to be replaced

DPWH plans a stronger four-lane bridge to replace the deteriorating two-lane Bridge of Promise built in 2009.

The Bridge of Promise links Barangay Kumintang Ibaba and Barangay Gulod Labac in Batangas City. After an inspection in February 2026, DPWH said the 2009 structure shows signs of deterioration and will be replaced by a stronger bridge.

DPWH has requested P300 million in the 2027 budget to widen it from two to four lanes. Expect advisories on lane closures once works begin.
